When building a site that uses existing electrical equipment, EVlogic now lets you identify those objects so they’re excluded from BOM equipment pricing.
What’s excluded: The equipment itself (switchgear and/or panel).
What’s included: All associated OCPDs (breakers), transformers, conduit, and wire needed to connect the equipment.
This ensures your BOM remains accurate while avoiding double-counting costs
Example
You’re installing AC Level 2 stations on an existing switchgear. A new step-down transformer and distribution panel are required. To properly calculate the pipe, wire, and breaker from the existing switchgear to the new transformer, you must place a switchgear object and mark it as Existing.
How to Mark Equipment as Existing
Step 1: Place the Equipment
Add the equipment in its actual location on the site map.
This allows EVlogic to perform all necessary calculations.
Step 2: Edit Properties
Select the equipment.
Click “Edit Properties.”
Step 3: Toggle “Existing Equipment”
Turn on the option “Existing equipment on site.”
Notes
You can mark equipment as existing at any stage of the build (before or after making connections).
EVlogic will size the gear for connected systems, which may not perfectly match the real-world existing equipment.
However, the breaker sizing placed in the existing gear will always be correct
In the BOM:
The equipment will still appear, labeled (Existing).
It will show with no pricing, while all other items remain priced.
