Connection Notifications & Troubleshooting

Not everyone is an expert, and sites can quickly get complex. To help, EVlogic includes a Notification Icon that alerts you when items are not properly connected or completely unconnected.

When wrapping up a site, keep an eye out for this icon:

How It Works

When the notification icon appears:

  1. Click on the icon to open a popup window.
  2. The popup will categorize specific issues in your project that may need attention.
  3. Mouse over any issue to highlight the related object with a red striped square, making it easy to locate on the map.
  4. Click “Info” next to the issue to receive detailed guidance on how to resolve it.

PRO TIP: Proper Connection Flow

When setting up sites—especially Microgrids—it’s critical to select connections in the correct order to ensure EVlogic properly engineers the system.

Key Rule:

Always connect upstream to downstream, moving left to right in the connection popup.

Example: Switchgear, Transformer, and Distribution Panel

Scenario:

  • The site is set up as 480V.
  • You want to place Level 2 chargers (L2s) on the distribution panel.
  • Correct connection order must be:
  1. Switchgear → Transformer

Transformer → Distribution Panel

Incorrect Setup: Power Conflict

If you connect Distribution Panel → Transformer and Switchgear → Transformer,
the system will flag an error because power is flowing into the transformer from both directions.

Correct Setup: Upstream to Downstream

To fix it:

  1. Disconnect the incorrect connection.
  2. Reconnect following the proper sequence:
    • Switchgear → Transformer
    • Transformer → Distribution Panel

This ensures the system understands the correct power flow and self-engineers properly.

Summary

  • The Notification Icon is your warning system for connection errors or incomplete builds.
  • Always hover over issues to visually locate the problem on your site.
  • Follow the upstream to downstream rule to prevent power conflicts.
  • Fix flagged errors immediately to keep your project accurate and ready for engineering.
