Company Collaborator Role

The Company Collaborator is a standard seat within EVlogic, designed for users who need to create and manage their own projects while collaborating on others.

Key Capabilities

  • Create, edit, and save projects they personally own.
  • View and access projects they’ve been:
    • Invited to collaborate on internally (within their company).
    • Invited to collaborate on externally (outside organizations).
  • Duplicate a main blueprint to experiment, modify, and save changes without impacting the original project.

Important Limitations

  • Cannot edit or save directly to the main blueprint of a project they’ve been invited to collaborate on.
  • Changes must be made on a duplicate blueprint, ensuring the integrity of the original design.
  • Can only see:
    • Projects they created themselves, and
    • Projects they’ve been explicitly invited to.

Why This Role Works Well

The Company Collaborator role offers a balance of freedom and protection:

  • Users can fully manage their own projects.
  • Collaboration is supported without risking accidental changes to a main blueprint.
  • Ideal for design teams, external consultants, or contractors who need to interact with EVlogic regularly.

Example Workflow

  1. A Company Collaborator creates a new EV charging site project.
  2. They are invited to join another team’s project for review.
  3. While they can’t directly edit the main blueprint, they duplicate it to:
  • Propose layout improvements.
  • Save their own version without disrupting the original.
